Walk-Through
It is highly recommended to take a walk-through of your home 24 hours prior to possession. We do this to ensure the property is in substantially the same condition as when we submitted the offer. In the case that it is not, it is key to contact your lawyer immediately!
Timing
The contract states that possession is at 12:00 pm on the agreed-upon day of possession. However, it is common to have delays.
This is why it is not suggested to book the moving truck for the day of possession.
In most cases, these delays are resolved on the possession date; however they can be postponed past that as well. These delays are resolved by both the buyers and sellers Realtor as well as the buyers and sellers lawyers!
Key Release
Keys are released once we receive authorization from the seller's lawyer! It is always recommended that once you have taken possession of your new home to change the locks.
